DIGITAL DENTISTRY

CEREC is a CAD/CAM system for patient-specific all-ceramic restorations in one visit. Working with technology-supported design and production principles, this system is based on the creation of prostheses (zirconium - lamina - E-max) and inlay / onlay filling materials from ceramic blocks with an intraoral camera that takes three-dimensional optical measurements.

CEREC ADVANTAGES

1- TREATMENT TIME SHORTENED (SINGLE DENTISTRY)

With the CAD-CAM system, applications can be made in a single session in the clinical environment and dental treatments can be completed in a short time. This avoids wasting time for the doctor and the patient.

2- TRADITIONAL MEASUREMENT METHOD HAS BEEN Abandoned

It has eliminated the traditional measurement method by using the CAD-CAM system. 3D measurements are made with a digital/optical camera. For patients with nausea and/or gag reflex during impression taking, the old method provided an advantage. In addition, the digital impression minimizes the risk of infection with traditional impressions.

3- ERROR RATE HAS BEEN MINIMIZED

With the CAD-CAM system, the measurement error margin has been reduced to zero. The biggest improvement has been in the CAM department, which has resulted in the production of prostheses with a faster, lowest error rate and high fit.

TREATMENT METHODS WITH THE CEREC SYSTEM

The CAD-CAM system has a working principle consisting of 4 stages.

1. An intraoral digital measurement is taken with an optical laser camera (CAM) and this measurement is transmitted directly to the computer to which the camera is connected.

2. After the computer converts the measurement into a 3D image, the dentist creates the most appropriate smile design. The CEREC system is also able to recommend the most suitable design to the patient, similar to the existing teeth, thanks to its "BIOGENERIC" infrastructure. The dentist can respond to this suggestion and make the changes that the patient wants.

3. After the smile design is ready, the most suitable color block is selected and the tooth cutting process is started with the CAD system and the tooth shape is obtained.

4. Polishing, coloring and finishing the prosthetic tooth (zirconium - E-max - lamina) or inlay/onlay filling material in the technological oven that is a part of the CEREC system.
